"I shall pass through this life but once. Any good therefore that I can do, or any kindness I can show, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it. For I shall never pass this way again."

Nancy Jo, LMT
I am a Colorado Licensed Massage Therapist and Lomilomi practitioner. I am native to Colorado and I graduated from The Colorado School of Healing Arts in Lakewood, Colorado. I have a background in singing, (www.myspace.com/njw826) songwriting, performance, foreign languages, marketing, public relations, entrepreneurial pursuits as well as a degree in speech and theater. My creative nature along with my work and life experiences have lent me a greater sensitivity, innovation and confidence in the field of massage therapy. I am a perpetual student and I strive to build my education in anatomy, physiology as well as other modalities. I am also bilingual in English and Spanish; enhancing my ability to communicate with the widely-growing Latino population here in the Denver metro area. I view all my experiences as enormous assets that have challenged and benefited my growth as an individual, as well as a massage therapy professional.
I describe myself as a relaxation and integration specialist with a strong, healing intention; focusing on women's health issues as well as chronic and terminally ill individuals. I am especially passionate and knowledgeable about working with ALS sufferers (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, aka, Lou Gehrig's Disease) and their specialized needs, as well as others who are challenged by health conditions or other limitations. My heart of service is also centered around the unique concerns of caregivers. I consider massage therapy to be relevant to all people, regardless of age or health condition. I am intentional about encouraging clientele to actively participate in their massage sessions according to individual preferences and abilities.
I also trained on the island of O'ahu in Lomilomi with Kumu Karen Leialoha Carroll (www.kapuaokalani.com). Lomilomi massage is a style of massage that is traditionally associated with the Hawaiian islands. Lomilomi has been translated as 'loving hands' or 'loving massage.' It's roots and history are deeply embedded in the Polynesian culture. As my beloved Kumu has shared with all her students: "Lomilomi massage is less about the actual massage strokes and more about a 'Way of Life.'" This is the essence of it all.
Lomilomi massage practices have evolved over thousands of years and in traditional Hawaiian culture, was passed down to family members who were deemed to be divinely gifted with healing prowess. There are many features to a Lomilomi session and experience. There are features of breath (the 'Ha'), which enables the practitioner to utilize their 'mana' (personal power) in order to best attain an understanding of what the needs of the client might be. Further, Lomilomi involves a 'pule,' a prayer. There are numerous interpretations and styles that vary in the delivery of the Lomilomi massage experience. The one unifying aspect of Lomilomi is the 'aloha' (love) that is intentionally expressed in a humble and open heart.
I have a strong sense of family values, varied life experiences and creative accomplishments that have infused within me, a consciousness of growth, exploration, integrity and innovation. I am also committed to continuing my education and furthering my abilities in order to best serve clientele. I strive to keep an open mind and heart for service in all its forms and with that, a sense of maturity, compassion and professionalism for all individuals. My areas of practice include Lomilomi massage, chair massage, swedish massage, hot stone massage, deep tissue massage, neuro-muscular massage, pre-natal massage as well as home and business outcalls.
I invite you to experience a massage session that is characterized by an informed, capable and compassionate touch. Please feel free to ask questions before, during and after your massage. I look forward to enhancing your life experience in such a way that would allow you to embrace life on your own terms.
